Since 2016, Mason CAN has been collaborating with local educational institutions, business leaders, and community organizations to enhance access to post-secondary education and foster a college-going culture.  Our team works to implement programming and resources that guide students of any age 

To College and Through College. 


Our primary program partner is the Mason County Promise, which currently provides funding for Mason County students attending West Shore Community College for up to six years after their high school graduation/receiving a GED.

What Is College?

The state of Michigan considers college to be any accredited experience you might pursue after high school that helps you advance in the workforce. 


College can look like:


  • An industry-recognized credential 
  • A 1-2 year certificate or associate degree 
  • A four-year bachelor's degree
